I liked your piece; it's comforting. The guaranteed evolution of life is something to hold onto. Reminded me of this short poem I wrote 15 years ago (I was 11!):
The Earth is Changing.
The leaves are turning yellow,
red orange and brown,
the weather is crisp and chilly,
because fall is here now,
The earth is changing,
Because it's very cold,
and snow is falling,
on the ground,
a sign winters here,
and soon passing,
now the earth is changing,
it starts with some rain,
that soon turns into floods,
now the first flower opens up,
and spring is here at last,
But the earth is changing,
soon it turns July,
the weather is hot and humid,
the way summer opens up,
now we wait for rosh hashana,
for the cycle to start again,
have some patience,
it will be faster then you think
Thanks for reminding me about this poem- it's cool to look back and see similar themes I appreciated as a kid now as an adult.
I'm currently in the season of growing, putting in many hours to improve my writing and tending to its needs with fertilizer (editing), water (feedback), and letting it face the sun to grow (leaving it overnight so I can look back with a pair of fresh eyes). Great reflection on seasons and the phases of life, Garrett!

I always love a good extended metaphor — sound like you’re in a Summer indeed!
