I saw this movie yesterday and waited to read your post until after seeing it. I was looking forward to this because I am a huge Wolverine/X-Men fan. It was beyond disappointing. Your review is spot on.
If it's a Marvel movie, these days I'll assume it'll be something like this and will only go if reviews tell me otherwise. Wholly unsurprised about this one
Please continue writing about movies 🍿 Sounds like it was a 1/10, but your review was a 10/10.
I hate the gimmick of fourth wall breaks, so I’ve always been repelled by the Deadpool movies. They seem built on sarcasm, violence, and insincerity — which the world already has enough of. Totally game for those elements when in service of story/character. This piece really shows the barren void that happens when that’s not the case.
Thank you, Tommy, that’s high praise coming from a film buff. I appreciate you reading it!
I find fourth-wall breaks a great device to advance plot and character, as long as you maintain that barrier between actor and character. You just want your character addressing an audience (like a documentary). You don’t want them aware that they are an actor playing a character in a movie.
That said, the original Deadpool makes expert use of the normally bad kind of fourth-wall break (what I would call fifth-wall breaks).
🔥🔥🔥
Haven’t seen it. And certainly won’t now.
Ha, same. Didn’t want to watch it before and now I really don’t want to watch it.

I’m both happy and sad that you agree. I offer my condolences for those two hours of your time.
This made me so proud, as a fellow movie goer and A-List subscriber. More original content, please dear god let it end.
Thanks man, sorry you wasted your time too.
