Are You an Intronaut?
The worlds within us are worth exploring, worth revealing. Let’s dive inwards.
This is The Intronaut, a publication that promotes the practice of introspection and prompts your journey of self-exploration.
For an idea of how I write and of what I write about, here’s a sampling of short-form issues:
What is an Intronaut?
Astronauts explore space, traveling towards the stars. Intronauts explore their inner worlds, traveling within themselves. I am an intronaut. Are you?
Intro: Prefix – into, to the inside, inward
Naut: Suffix – traveller, voyager; from the Greek naútēs, meaning “sailor"
In•tro•naut Noun: An explorer on an inward voyage
What to Expect
Issues of The Intronaut will be sometimes structured, sometimes formless, but always thought-provoking. That’s my promise to you: Whether I’m sharing a logical essay or a lyrical story, I will get you thinking — give you something for your mind to chew on.
Many issues will be philosophical arguments. Others will be personal anecdotes. But no matter what form it takes, each issue will be related to introspection and self-exploration. Whether I write an essay on ethics or a share an excerpt from my travel logs, it will be for the purpose of connecting to the worlds within us.
The Intronaut will be provocative, not prescriptive. (I mean provocative as in "thought-provoking" — sorry if you got excited.) I'll share my experiences, ask questions, and construct arguments, but those will be for you to consider and critique, not to simply consume. I'll share my ideas in the hopes of inspiring new ideas in you, ideas that move you to action, to self-exploration.
According to that promise, every issue of The Intronaut includes a Springboard, which is a carefully crafted question to help you dive into your inner world.
Springboard:
What is something you've been avoiding? Is it having a conversation? Starting a project? Booking a trip? How free would you feel without that lingering burden? Could you find that freedom today?
The worlds within us are worth exploring, worth revealing. Let’s dive into the unknown. Let’s dive inwards.
Garrett, Intronaut certainly describes you! Looking forward to more of your thought provoking newsletters!
Very excited! Love the concept of "springboard" helping Intronauts dive deeper. Thank you for doing this.
